Copper Valleys

An architectural upgrade, and better performance for a new roof.

Valleys are used as architectural upgrades and, or, to increase the performance of a new roof. They add a customized look to any dormer or flashing area and come in all shapes and sizes. Copper valley gutters last for many years as long as they are installed correctly.

Problems usually surface if the lead used is too thin, or if a lead valley has too few steps or expansion joints. A valley that was not installed properly starts to split with age, which lets water in.

That can be corrected in one of two ways. The tiles can be stripped of all existing lead and relined with new lead of the correct code, using the correct expansion joints. Or the bottom rows of tiles can be stripped and relined with a single-ply system such as Sarnafil, which does not need steps or expansion joints.

  • Customized look at dormers and flashing areas
  • Copper valley gutters, installed correctly to last
  • Failing lead valleys: reline in new lead of the correct code with expansion joints
  • Or reline the bottom rows with a single-ply system
